This past Sunday was my 28th birthday. Howdy made reservations at Orso for dinner on Sunday night. So far, Orso is our favorite restaurant in Anchorage. We’ve never had anything on their menu that was less than amazing. Sunday night we split the Crispy Ravioli appetizer to start. I had the Spinach with Apple-Thyme Vinaigrette salad and Howdy had the Smoked Salmon Chowder – both of which were wonderful! (I think next time we go I might just get that salad and soup as my meal!). For our entrees Howdy had the Cashew Crusted Fresh Alaska Halibut, and I had the Alaska King Crab and Risotto Cakes. We also split the Tiramisu and Molten Chocolate Cake for dessert. Seriously, it was all delicious and I ate way too much!

The weather Sunday morning was overcast and rainy, but it cleared up in the evening. After dinner we went for a walk downtown, and enjoyed a gorgeous sunset. Of course, the pictures from my iPhone didn’t do it justice, but you’ll get the idea.
