Today was full of Milestones
Tonight, I conquered the mountain!! For the first time, I ran the entire circle around the neighborhood – including the giant hill at the end that’s been kicking my butt on every other run!! I was slow, but I did it, and I’m proud of myself. I almost didn’t go for a run today, but then I remembered that it’s been a week since my last run AND I signed up to run my first 12k race tomorrow!! I haven’t run over 7 miles since the Disney Princess half-marathon in March… but I signed up anyway, so I might be crazy…
It’s been one month since we left Charleston!! Looking back I remember how excited I was to be moving to Alaska. Now we’re actually HERE, it’s just as amazing as I thought it would be, and I couldn’t be happier!! It was sad to say goodbye to our Charleston friends, but in the lifestyle we live, it’s like we always say – it’s only “bye for now”.
Today was my anniversary!! Well, not mine alone. Howdy and I have been married for 4 years now! That time has gone by so fast… I have to keep doing the math in my head to figure out if it’s really been 4 years. Of course, we’ve never been in the same place on the actual anniversary day, but it just gives us something to look forward to. 🙂 Hopefully, we’ll be together next year for our 5th. I received some beautiful lilies from him today, and I have a feeling there’s something else on the way that hasn’t arrived yet. 😉 I love him so much. He is my best friend and the last 4 years have been wonderful. I’m so excited about all the future holds – he really is my favorite!!
If Here Was There 
Congratulations! First on the anniversary and also for conquering that hill! So exciting to have another race on the calendar. One thing I’ve learned about myself is that if there is no race, there is no running.
I’ve realized I’m the same way! Cant’ get motivated to run more than about 4 miles unless there is a race coming up. 🙂
Congrats all around! YaY!! Central Ohio is really flat so there aren’t hills for me to conquer. I suppose I could try some stairs but um, I’ll pass on those. 😉
